This is a review of Flair & Paper’s May “Fierce & Fabulous” box.
Each Flair & Paper Box includes an info sheet detailing what’s inside the box and expanding on the month’s theme. This month the sheet had a coupon code for a Mother’s Day Sale on all gift subscriptions.
The items are beautifully packaged inside the box, wrapped up with some thematic tissue paper and cutely sealed with a themed sticker.
The May 2019 Flair & Paper box included five greeting cards, a spiral notepad, candle wraps, a pencil set, and a May calendar sheet.
May Calendar Sheet
Flair and Paper includes a calendar sheet in every box that features artwork from this month’s current theme. I love the minimalist style hanging terrariums on May’s sheet and these cards are great for hanging up at the office or pinning to the fridge!
Now onto the cards!
All the cards are blank inside, printed on FSC Certified matte card stock, folded A2 sized (5.5 x 4.25) with a matching envelope, and packaged in a clear cellophane bag. They are all listed at a $4 value, per Flair & Paper’s website.
“Fierce Mama” Card
The Fierce Mama card features an adorable mama bear with her cub and is perfect for Mother’s Day! In my case, I used this card as a baby shower card and paired it with some sweet board books. This minimalist but loving mama bear card is paired with a plain kraft envelope.
“Treat Yourself” Card
With a gorgeous design featuring a making-me-hungry cake and a simple “treat yourself” line on the front, this card is multi-functional. I think it would work great as any kind of celebratory card–including new jobs, bridal showers, or everyday celebrations! It pairs with a blush pink envelope.
“I’m Yours” Card
This dual sweet/snarky card is the perfect balance of love (“I’m Yours”) and sass (“What Else Could You Possibly Wish For?”) for those of us wanting to send a sweet message to our loved ones without being too mushy! It features a fun polka-dote design that’s very gender neutral and pairs with a Kraft envelope.
“I Really Like You” Card
I think this card is my favorite this month! Featuring a very simple design with some hand drawn lettering and a little scribbled heart, this card is the perfect way to remind your partner just how special they are. The card pairs with a Kraft envelope.
“Hello Gorgeous” Card
This is a great card to have on hand! The simple message paired with the gold foil and pretty filigree design makes it a great every day card (maybe for surprising your friend on a bad day) or a great emergency card for a birthday or another non-specific holiday.
Spiral Notepad by Lady Jane
The spiral notepad from Lady Jane features 75 sheets, a gold foil embellished cover, an elastic band closure, and measures 3″ x 4″ in size. I don’t love this item compared to other gifty items we’ve gotten in Flair & Paper boxes. This notepad reads “GRL PWR” and just strikes me as a little young, plus I don’t find tiny notepads all that useful, but it’s a cute item to throw in alongside a gift when looking for a little something extra for your friend or teenager.
This two-pencil set features a bronze pencil reading “Hello Gorgeous” and a pink pencil reading “Get It Girl.” I know these pencil’s are supposed to pair with the spiral notepad, but I find these pencils much more mature than the pad itself! The colors are gorgeous and the design is so simple, you’ll likely be the only one to notice the little boost of confidence if you were to use these in the office. I couldn’t find them online, so I’m not sure what the estimated cost of these would be.
I say this every time a Flair and Paper box arrives in the mail but I just love this subscription so much! The value of this month’s box was $36, not counting the pencil set and the monthly calendar. That’s $12 more in value than the cost of the box with shipping, and doesn’t even include two of the items! I really can’t stop raving about how great the quality of the cards are and how fun the curation is every month. While I didn’t love the spiral notepad, the gorgeous designs of the cards and usefulness of the products far outweigh the one miss. I can’t wait for my next Flair & Paper box.
